Chulmleigh
In Chulmleigh, our pilot project, we have provided:
A brand new Ssangyong Turismo 4x4, which was modified so that it has patient carrying capability. To this we added a top of the range Sat Nav system, we then added a reversing camera to the specification because the Turismo is such a large vehicle. We have also supplied the responders with 10 stethoscopes and anticipate supplying further equipment in the near future.
We have arranged for DSFR to extract and convert data from the Ordnance Survey’s AddressBaseTM database, of all the addresses with a 10 mile radius of Chulmleigh; and then load this as a “Custom POI” file into the navigation system. This is far superior to standard navigation systems and has every single address uniquely mapped to within 2.5 metres. This means that the responders should never have to waste time looking for an address.
4 DSFR Fire-fighters are co-responding in Chulmleigh hopefully more will be recruited soon. DART is also examining the possibility of adding " Community First Responders and Neighbourhood First Responders" to the enhance the amount of help available within the community.
